Meet Dr. Gjertsen

Dr. Gjertsen earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. She then completed a three-year residency program in Endodontics and received a Certificate in Endodontics and a Master’s of Science Degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. She was the recipient of a Student Achievement Award in Endodontics from the American Association of Endodontists, and a Student Achievement Award from the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. Dr. Gjertsen has achieved the status of Board Eligible from the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Gjertsen has a special interest in the field of dental trauma, and much of her research, including her Master’s Thesis research project, was related to trauma. Her Master’s Thesis Project was published in the Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology Journal, and has many citations.

Dr. Gjertsen is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Connecticut Association of Endodontists, and a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Greater Norwalk Dental Society. Dr. Gjertsen is an active member of the Seattle Study Club, Greenwich component and the Spear Study Club, Norwalk component. Dr. Gjertsen is active with the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA). She was elected to the Board of Governors  of the  CSDA, and served in that role from 2014-2017, and is now serving again in 2022.  Dr. Gjertsen has been a delegate/alternate delegate to the CSDA House of Delegates for  13 years. She has served as the Treasurer for the Greater Norwalk Dental Society for over 12 years, and is a past President.
